Volkel and Turner Design, LLC was started by Sara Volkel and Abby Turner in 2007 because of their love of event coordinating and attention to detail. Out of this came Icing on the Cake Events, a company dedicated to creating creative, elegant, functional events.
We specialize in weddings and company events, but also plan and organize any corporate events, fundraisers, private parties, banquets and the likes. Icing on the Cake Events is determined to make every event a success. In the wedding industry, timing, coordination and function go hand in hand with the elegance and charm of every wedding.

Sara Volkel is the co-owner of Icing on the Cake Events. Sara started planning events in college as a founding member of the Montana State University Creative Artists Guild. Since then, she has coordinated events for organizations such as the American Diabetes Association, the For One Another Cancer Family Network, and Students Against Sexual Assault. With a Bachelor's degree in Art History, Sara's attention to detail and appreciation for beauty has given her clients an artistic edge. A 14 year resident of Bozeman, Sara enjoys spending time with friends and enjoying the beautiful Montana landscape.
Abby Turner is the co-owner of Icing on the Cake Events. She has lived in Montana for 16 years and in the Bozeman area for over 8 years. Abby graduated from Montana State University with a bachelor's degree in History and a minor degree in Japanese Studies. She has worked for event vendors in the Bozeman Area and has developed many relationships with business owners in the Bozeman Area. After planning her own wedding, and a few of her friend's, she decided to start Icing on the Cake Events with Sara so that she could earn a living doing what she loves. In her down time, Abby is a Girl Scout troop leader and enjoys the outdoors with her husband hiking, biking, camping, skiing and traveling.
